Touch Therapy Is A Thing And It's AWESOME

[self-care][vlog] I watched the following video today from Touch Practitioner and Educator and friend, Janet TreviƱo, today and I have SO MANY thoughts on this!
The bulk of my time is spent being a caregiver for my husband, my kids, and my friends and family a lot of times too. I am also my own caregiver. Having a touch session with Janet (video below) helped me remember what it's like to be cared for.

I'm blessed that I had plenty of care from my mom as a child. Even when I was older, grown up, out of the house, I would ask her to give me a bath when I visited my her. I haven't done that in a long time. But thinking about this reminds me that I could do more TOUCH caring for my husband where verbal care (the type I excel at but he doesn't respond to) falls short.

He is amazing at giving me space to care for myself whenever I need it. He even reminds me to go take a bath or exercise or relax. The way that I wish I could take away his depression, he probably also wishes he could get me to sit still for just a few minutes. Tonight, I'm going to start a tradition of laying his head or legs in my lap and just caressing him and finding out what makes him feel good. I'm going to be quiet so he can have a chance to feel heard. It's a way that we can both give each other what we've been yearning for.

If you feel you could use some verbal care, please reach out to me. Let's get a conversation going.

If you feel you could use some touch care, please reach out to Janet. She's located in San Antonio but she travels too. And clients have traveled to her. Here's her website.
